If you had been feeling a bit of a buzz in the air about mini velos, you weren’t mistaken. Component providore Velo Orange sure has its finger on the pulse and while small wheelers aren’t a new concept, they’ve certainly added a neu slant to it.
The Maryland brand just announced the pre-sale offering of their Neutrino mini velo, and after drooling over their prototype a few months ago we’re very excited to see their interpretation come to fruition.
It’s as excellent as we expected it to be, and it’s available as a frameset costing US$825.
Three sizes are on offer, a small, a large and an XL, but don’t let their diminutive wheels fool you; they will feel and ride the same as your full-sized bike. That’s the beauty of them, with the advantage of their portability and agility. They’re also a helluva lot of fun.
There’s plenty of inspiration for personalization to be found online, and a whole new world of BMX componentry to explore, which leads only to the question: what would you do with it?
