Seattle’s Taylor Hurley is the photographer of this Yamaguchi TT frame that has been revitalized as an urban warrior, she also happens to be the responsible mechanic behind Mobius Cycle, a Local Bike Shop that specializes in contemporary customizations of classic steel frames.
Koichi Yamaguchi is a master builder that spent over four years building frames for Keirin racers in Japan at the 3Rensho workshop. He moved to the USA in 1987 to start his own business, working for the US Cycling Federation as National Team Mechanic and eventually becoming the official frame builder for the US National Team and Olympic Cycling Team. Taylor claims that George Hincapie himself rode this particular frame for an Olympic excursion. The frame features Koichi’s trademark curves and innovative details such as the formidable front brake bridge.
