Maxime Bimar is a Deluxe BMX team rider who gets plenty of airtime at the local trails around his southern French hometown of Peynier. The Sacre Bleu is his signature frame — a serious frame for serious riders and, as described on the Deluxe website, it’s built to roast.
These are dramatic photos, an apt setting for a frame named Sacre Bleu: an old French profanity meant as a cry of surprise or anger. This one was built up and shot by French photographer, Lothaire Hucki, with help from the Sample Bicycle Shop — also located in the south of France.
The Sacre Bleu features sharper geometry than other Deluxe frames, as specified by Max. For the techies, it’s got a 74.5 degree head tube, 72 degree seat tube, removable brake hardware, a slightly higher bottom bracket shell and is built from butted Japanese seamless chromoly tubing.
It’s available in three finishes: Matte Black, Chrome Plate and Clearcoat, like the one featured here.
