Zanconato Cyclocross

Zanconato Cyclocross

Photographer Sasha Eysymontt is a true connoisseur of the beautiful bicycle, owning a quiver of immaculate Vanilla Bicycles, Nagasawa keirin and road bikes, an Ahearne randonneur — even an Alex Singer for a brief time. He’s just added a cyclocross frame by Mike Zanconato to the stable, which provided yet another source of photographic inspiration.

Mike ‘Zanc’ Zanconato has been building frames since 1998, and has, in that time, generated a wide reputation for creating traditional, ultra-reliable road, cyclocross and mountain bikes. Based in Massachusetts, Mike primarily works with lugged Columbus steel, incorporating fastback seat stays and a minimum of flashy details — straight-up, dependable and good looking.

Sasha managed to pick up this pearl-white Zanconato from the original owner and built it up with his own preference of parts in anticipation of outings to local cyclocross events over the next season. Cyclocross is a favorite subject for Sasha’s lens as well, you can view his coverage on his flickr stream. Keep an eye out for Mike Zanconato too, another huge ‘cross fan, at the local races.
