The Race Of Colour: Painting Le Tour

The Race Of Colour: Painting Le Tour

It’s now 1.45am in Sydney, and we’re still awaiting official news of exactly what happened up there on Mount Ventoux tonight, Stage 12 of the 2016 Tour de France. It will be interesting to see what Rob Ijbema will make of it, who is painting a scene from each stage of this year’s La Grande Boucle.

It’s a grand effort in itself, but Rob, a UK-based artist, has been doing this for years now: producing a beautiful image inspired by the action of each stage, and finally compiling it into a book. Here’s a couple of images from this year’s tour, but head to Rob’s website, Painting Le Tour, and his Facebook page, for more.
