The conclusion of the UK’s Bespoked show on the weekend wrapped up the three big custom bike shows for the year and the level of quality and innovation has never been higher. The latest work from Quirk Cycles shown at Bespoked helped raise the bar.

If bike shows are a snapshot of the industry and the market’s state of play, one insight can be taken away from both the Australian Handmade Bicycle Show and Bespoked last weekend: frame builders have embraced the versatility offered by 3D printing.

Robert Quirk exhibited a frame with a 3D-printed stainless seat-cluster and internal bolt clamping system. The dropouts were also printed, and all of this was presented under a stellar paint scheme — with touches of silver-leaf — by Cole Coatings Workshop.

The Bespoked show also debuted Quirk Cycles’ new website, which features a refreshed blog and depicts all of the Paint-Haus options developed by Quirk and Cole Coatings that you can select on the new Quirk models, the Durmitor, Mamtor, and the Kegety.

One insight you can take away from all of this is that it’s going to be a big year for custom frame building and the team at Quirk Cycles. Bespoked 2020… What will happen?
