Neverstop Pedalling is a fixed-specific bicycle boutique located in Melbourne, Australia. After browsing through their blog, I came across Nick’s 80s-era Michalo Pista, beautifully shot in their warehouse.
Nick has owned the Michalo for about five years, after purchasing it from a female track racer in Flemington. Information on Michalo, and most old-school Australian builders is sparse, although there are a few experts who may be able to shed light on some of Melbourne’s marques. The original chrome is showing signs of age, especially around the original double crown forks, but is only adding to the weathered patina. It depends on your perspective, but bikes like this I find infinitely more appealing than modern machines—reminiscent of barn-find vintage sports cars.
The Neverstop Pedalling boutique is a dedicated online store, stocking a full range of Cinelli and Leaf frames, t-shirts by Anticoast, bags by Brisbane Outdoor Gear and Chrome, and all parts and accessories required for your build. Soon, Nick tells us, the Michalo may be relegated to adorning a wall in their warehouse—a constant inspiration to maintain the legacy to keep riding.
