If you were fortunate enough to attend last Sunday’s 2012 Melburn Roobaix, the friendly ride through Melbourne’s cobblestoned laneways, you may have encountered the two characters responsible for today’s featured bike. Photographer Andy Rogers contracted Keith Marshall of Kumo Cycles to bring Andy’s dream bike to fruition.
Seven months ago, Andy spoke to Keith about an idea for a track bike that could carry him both over the boards and the streets. Andy had spied a wishbone seat stay configuration on a frame Keith had built for himself, and requested the same device. Both the frame and fork are constructed from Columbus Life, kitted out with a selection of Superbe and Phil Wood components.
After waiting patiently, Andy is now looking forward to ‘riding the hell out of it’. He tells us, “it’s perfect! Fits like a glove. Rides like a dream and looks exactly how I envisioned. Keith Marshall is a wizard with the torch.” I’m inclined to agree with him. Luckily he took these shots before riding into the sunset, check out more on his blog and flickr stream.
