Horse Cycles 650b CX

Horse Cycles 650b Cyclocross

This little beauty is one of the more recent fillies borne from the hands of Thomas Callahan, the man behind Horse Cycles (his ‘Priest Sport’ track bike is Miss December in The Spoken 2011 Bicycle Calendar. While the Priest Sport demonstrated Thomas’ artistic flair with a cubist, architectural style, this 650b cyclocross build is more a country portrait of a tweed-clad trad with his pack of pointers.

What the 650b sized frame lacks in stature, it makes up for in stylish purpose. The ornate fork crown is highlighted with champagne, matched by the head and seat tubes, and are reminiscent of the epaulets on the trainer of a Lipizzaner. It’s an elaborate yet reliable bike, built up with rock solid components: Thomson posts, Chris King headset, SRAM levers and cantilever calipers, Phil Wood hubs and Brooks leather. The ultimate in bicycle dressage. You can see more of Thomas Callahan’s work on his flickr stream, and bookmark his website.
