I’ve been greatly enjoying Firefly Bicycles‘ morning #bostonam jaunts on Instagram. They truly capture the more informal side of these bikes that seem so mechanically correct in their usual studio setting. The titanium tubes, with perfectly formed beads around every conjunction, almost seem otherworldly in their construction, but they are most definitely put together by humans and are built for everyday riding, especially this belt-driven commuter.
Titanium, by its very nature, feels more of a contemporary frame material than steel, requiring an exact temperature and a pristine environment during its construction. Firefly’s Tyler Evans, Jamie Medeiros and Kevin Wolfson produce dazzling frames that prove their versatility, decorated with anodised highlights. Their latest commuter is no exception: powered by a Gates carbon belt drive, steered with a custom stem and bar and topped with a proprietary seat mast.
