It’s only natural when dealing with bicycles primarily constructed from steel that we encounter an amount of oxidization, and it’s true that a certain amount can achieve that desirable ‘weathered’ patina, but this entry for Partisan Vodka’s bicycle competition has pursued the effect to the nth degree.

Two teams were given six weeks and 700€ to produce an individual creation that could be replicated for a short, promotional run. Mysteriously, there seems to be no evidence online of the losing entry, nicknamed ‘Machete’, but this is the winning entry from the trio of Hans Steinkopf, Sebastian Faber and Christian Görmer.

Behold, ‘FeO2’, a steel frame that has been forcibly oxidized and accessorized with a selection of contrasting textures. A front rack has been installed that houses an army surplus woolen blanket, secured by a regulation leather belt. The custom leather pouch mounted behind the seat tube houses a hip flask in the form of a jerry can which continues the military theme.

A small edition of FeO2 will now be produced; if you’re looking for the ideal vehicle to conquer the urban battleground (or have a picnic, or a mobile vodka party), get in touch with Partisan Vodka through their website.
