Feather Cycles for Kayti

Feather Cycles for Kayti

A big part of the reason Feather Cycles looks so good is due to the work of a photographer named Kayti Peschke. Kayti is Ricky Feather’s better half and is a renowned fashion photographer who has an eye for detail and a daring sense of style that matches her husband’s skill with the brazing torch.

When Ricky decided to build Kayti her own road frame, it was always going to be special, but it was her art direction that made it truly spectacular.

Kayti’s portfolio shows a star-studded client list that spans both sides of the Atlantic, demonstrating both an obvious business acumen and an ability to get the best from her models, although recently her husband has been playing a starring role in her photo shoots for Feather Cycles Racing and the Yorkshire chapter of the Rapha Continental.

One of the catalysts for Kayti’s own Feather was the limited edition turquoise component range from Chris King. The combination of turquoise and hot pink is one of her favourites, so naturally that formed the basis of the color scheme. The two colors were both enhanced and balanced by a base coat of pearlescent white.

Kayti describes herself as “a kind of a reluctant cyclist but was definitely curious to see what all the fuss was about”. However, she spent her childhood bombing about on her BMX, loves being outdoors and exploring the Yorkshire countryside herself, so the new road bike promises to be a perfect vehicle.

Feather Cycles Racing is Ricky’s personal endeavour to revive the framebuilder’s tradition of supporting and supplying a racing team which, at this stage, consists of a high-flying all-male squad. But who knows, with her new Feather under her wing, perhaps Kayti will be the first woman to champion the colours?
