Whoever thinks that steel is a material suited only to romantic randonneurs and fully-dressed porteurs obviously hasn’t encountered the work of English Cycles. With each new build, Rob English defines his innovative style a little further and his latest brings carbon and steel together in a lithe frame that seemingly defies physics.
This is the third iteration of a frame that has gradually been developed as Rob’s personal racing steed. It’s a highly refined fusion of strength and weight, combining custom ENVE seat and head tubes with a True Temper S3 down tube, top tube and chain stays.
A heady mix of SRAM’s RED Quarq Power Meter crankset, Ciamillo brakes and Lightweight wheels contribute to a total weight of 13.7lbs.
English Cycles may be based in Eugene, Oregon, but the V3 Road is the perfect embodiment of his native flag that adorns the aero down tube: light and fleet, traditional yet progressive, strong and confident.
