English Cycles Di2 Custom

English Cycles Di2

This is the second Shimano Di2-specific road frame by English Cycles that we’ve featured here, but Rob English hasn’t been resting on his laurels. This one features some natty mods to the electronic shifting system, namely a custom battery pack by Pat Gerke of Icarus Lights.

Compiled in association with Portland’s Het Fairwheel Podium, Rob’s Di2 frame features a design that’s characteristic of his experience with time-trialing and road racing. There’s no frills here, this is the business end of custom frame building. Het Fairwheel Podium brought Icarus Lights on board to create a battery that no longer required removal of the seat post to charge the pack. All that’s required is to plug your frame into a socket using the same cord as a generic smartphone. The frame also features Rob’s proprietary fork design and a rare set of cranks and bottom bracket by Sweet Parts.

Thank you Emir for the photography, you can see more of Het Fairwheel Podium’s incredible custom machines, including The World’s Lightest Bike, on his Flickr stream.
