Some creative agencies send out direct mail ephemera to advertise their services, but East Yorkshire’s detail Design Agency prefer to restore classic Carltons. This is the third chromed-out townie from the studio that we’ve seen, but it’s easily the most considered and features some timeless details.

The base for the project was an all-chrome frame by Nottinghamshire’s Carlton Cycles, founded in 1898. During the 1950s, Carlton were of the same school as Hetchins — they of the elaborately carved lugs. The Jewel is a perfect example, which was more expensive than a Magnum Opus.

Matthew Conway and the detail crew installed BLB’s Pista Vera cranks and added a touch of flair with a Velo Orange Grand Cru Plume Alaire Chainguard. A 1963 Triumph Ingersoll pocket watch was attached with a custom mount, which are now available for purchase.
