De Rosa Neo Primata

De Rosa Neo Primato

Ugo De Rosa, another padre of the Italian racing bicycle tradition, celebrated his seventy-eighth birthday in January this year. The De Rosa business doesn’t show any sign of slowing up either, and remains at the forefront of the industry after almost sixty years.

Sasha Strickland runs Pony Bikes, a custom repair shop in West Melbourne which recently saw this De Rosa Neo Primato in the stand. It was built up for a local customer, Gianni, as a replacement for his previous frame, which had met with an untimely demise. It is a steel proponent of the De Rosa range, and while every model in the lineup bears the cuore emblem of the brand, the Neo Primata wears it with pride, a sense of nostalgia and defiant dignity.

For all your custom repair work and accessories, or if you just want a coffee in the sun, drop into Pony Bikes, located at 87 Capel Street, West Melbourne.
