So far, the response to Adam Eldridge’s Wraith Fabrication has been overwhelmingly positive.
The first two waves of production sold out with a third, at the time of writing, available for pre-order. And that reveals plenty about the quality of the frames and the frame builder.
The legion of Wraith fans includes Brian Fu, the instigator of the Custom Bicycle Movement in Hong Kong, and a connoisseur of the Beautiful Machine.
Brian has been described as The Godfather of Hong Kong’s fixed gear scene, a pioneer of that genre and the owner of many custom bikes by some of the most respected names in the business.
So when Brian, who was now riding further afield on geared bikes, got wind of Wraith Fabrication, he immediately put his name on the first pre-order list. He is now the proud owner of this Hustle, with a serial number of #001.
Brian knows what he’s talking about when it comes to custom frames, and rates the Hustle highly. Built up to be a ‘do-it-all’ bike, Brian installed SRAM’s rugged and reliable CX1 11-speed groupset — a low-maintenance setup strong enough to tackle the urban jungle in which he lives.
Equally, 25mm tires and H Plus Son clincher rims will provide hassle-free rolling.
The Hustle came bundled with a carbon fork and was fully prepped for easy installation of parts. It was easy on the scales and the wallet: a medium size frame weighed only 3.1lbs and retailed for just US$1,350, for a frame and forks. Must have been very hard for Brian to pass up.
Special thanks to Brian Fu for the photos.
