BMC Impec

BMC Impec

Well, this is the marque, I am very, very proud to say, placed Cadel Evans on top of the podium in Paris at the end of the 2011 Tour de France, the first Australian ever to do so. While Cadel’s ride was the Team Machine, the BMC Impec is a stock machine you can acquire for yourself and pretend you’re wearing the maillot jaune after riding 3,430.5 kilometers around France.

The main features of the Impec are the Load Specific Weave and the Shell Node Concept. The LSW tubes are woven with carbon fibers first of all, then converted to a highly rigid structure using a special resin compound, resulting in tubes accurate to one tenth of a millimeter. The Shell Node Concept is BMC’s propriety innovation, bonded carbon compound lugs which bring together one of cycling’s stiffest and technologically advanced frames.

Contact your local BMC dealer for a test ride on an Impec. If you’re in Toronto, Canada, you can drop into La Bicicletta. Check out their flickr stream for exclusive photography of their bikes and activities. The BMC website has details on the Impec, and every bike in their range, to whet your appetite.

Cadel, The Spoken congratulates you on a well-deserved win. You bloody bewdy.
